2026 RetroTours Schedule/First draft/more detail descriptions on the way: watch this space!

To arms, to arms, the British are coming!  Four avid enthusiasts will be visiting from England. They would love nothing better than to make some new riding buddies over here. This could be your ticket to next year’s Isle of Man Race! Limited availability, as we already have 5 riders signed up (with a maximum of 10) for the first three rides listed below.

Wednesday, April 29th: Our British friends will have had a rest day to acclimate. We will run a  Local Loops ride so they can get familiar with riding on the wrong side of the road: Four or five 25-mile segments with short breaks between. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included, as is gasoline.

Thursday, April 30th: Having acclimated, we will do a one-day ride of 150-200 miles, visiting an interesting destination reminiscent of the Revolutionary War, with apologies to our British visitors.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, May 3rd-May 6thWe get more serious and take our international guests on a 4-day ride to the west. Each day will cover 150 miles +/- with three different overnight stays. The destination? Johnstown, PA, Fallingwater, the Flight 93 Memorial…take your pick.

Sprechen Sie Deutsch?  With characteristic Teutonic efficiency, Reiner and Connie booked their flight from Germany one year ago. They will each be riding their own bikes on this tour. Sign up and enjoy some international flavor. Couples are encouraged, and can ride two up if desired. It is only appropriate that the BMW sidecar rig be made available if some significant other prefers the comfort of ‘the chair’.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 12th, 13th, 14th: Our destination for this, the 16th Redneck Gyro, is  Lost City, West Virginia. How does one find Lost City? It’s simple, really, just follow The Lost River. Even if we get Lost Ourselves, West Virginia is still ‘Almost Heaven’, especially on a motorcycle.  Tun sie es einfach!... Just do it!

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, July 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th: It’s likely to be hot at this time of the year. Let’s head for the mountains to the north and west, with no specific destination in mind and no reservations. We will choose some curvy lines on a map (remember maps?) to follow and when we get tired, we will look for a cheap motel or what-have-you. No reservations=4 days of freedom &  adventure!

Saturday & Sunday, August 15th & 16th: Northwestern New Jersey will surprise you. High Point State Park offers great roads and splendid views of 3 states, rivaling Skyline Drive in Virginia. The Delaware Water Gap provides touristic roads leading there. We will try for a funky B&B to overnight, staying far from any urban blight. Something like 200 or 250 miles each day.

Saturday & Sunday, September 5th & 6th: Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Wild seagoing horses meet Jimmy Buffett, PLUS NASA’s most active launch facility. Experience the DelMarVa Penninsula as we slice through the back woods of Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia to discover an island paradise. 250 miles per day on easy roads.

Tuesday October 6th – Thursday October 15th: Barber Museum Festival. It’s been a few years but we finally return to Barber. I already have 1 reservation so it’s a go! A huge bucket list item, there is no better way to get there than by vintage motorcycle. Four 350-mile days each way and 2 days on site.  We will hit Skyline drive, The Blue Ridge Parkway, The Tail of the Dragon, The Cherohala Skyway, The Foothills Parkway: all the must ride points on the east coast. Physically demanding, emotionally satisfying; THESE 10 DAYS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER!

Sunday November 1stAn easy one-day tour of 150 miles to enjoy the autumn weather and colors.  We will visit Hopewell Furnace and the home of Daniel Boone
